Traces of Light and Folds of Wind
“My inspiration comes from the moments captured in life. I will take pictures of the moments that touch me, and then integrate these recorded photos into my creations in the studio.”
— Lin Wenjie
As an artist who has created and lived in France and China, Lin Wenjie always pays attention to the spontaneous emotional resonance between people and objects. She uses mature painting techniques to capture the changes in light in the landscape and memory. People and landscapes are the main themes in her creations. “Traces of Light” are the visual language that penetrates the colors of the canvas, expressing the presentation of memory in the soil of foreign land and cultures; “Folds of Wind” are reflected in the swaying plants in the sun, the folds of the characters’ clothes and the ripples on the water, which is Lin Wenjie’s unique spatial narrative technique.
